<p>How can you help us?</p> <p>As a visitor, you can help save water while on holiday by doing the following:</p> <ul> <li>Cut your showers down to two minutes.</li> <li>Collect shower and basin water and reuse it to flush the toilet.</li> <li>Use your towel more than once. Instead of dropping it on the floor after a shower, hang it up. This will save water and electricity.</li> <li>Don’t leave your taps running while you brush your teeth, soap up or shave. Turn off the tap during those in  between times and use a reusable cup when brushing your teeth.</li> <li>Hold off on getting your clothes laundered. <p>Fish Hoek has been awarded Blue Flag status for the summer season.</p> <p>Fish Hoek was amoung the top 10 Cape Town beaches to be awarded Blue Flag status for the period starting 1st December and ending 31st January 2017.  </p> <p>The Blue Flag is an international accreditation awarded to beaches that display excellence through meeting 33 criteria covering four categories including: environmental education and information, water quality, environmental management and safety and services.</p> <p>Participation in this international programme is voluntary and the status indicates that the beaches all have their own environmental education programmes, have bathing water of the highest standard, are clean, have adequate ablution facilities and parking, are environmentally sound, are safe and secure to visit, and adhere to international safety and tourism standards.</p> <p>Another fantastic reason why Fish Hoek is known as Fabulous Fish Hoek.</p>
